Proximity-Based OOH Media Planning: University of Sussex

by | May 6, 2025

Geo-targeted university Open Day campaign

Proximity-based OOH media planning plays a vital role in reaching students at key decision-making moments. For the University of Sussex, Open Days offer an invaluable experience for prospective students to explore campus life, meet academics and discover available courses. The University of Sussex on campus Open Days allow students to get under the skin of Sussex life, meet academics and current students, as well as explore the various courses available.

MEERKATworks developed a proximity-based OOH media planning strategy for the University of Sussex, combining localised advertising with strategic placement.

The In School panels have been carefully positioned in targeted feeder schools, reaching year 12 students as they consider their university options. The roadside 6 sheets have been planned within key areas to reach potential students – and their influencers – as they are out and about. In order to extend the geographical reach of this activity, the OOH campaign also includes train card panels (TCPs) on key lines across London and the South East, as well as advertising in cinemas, London Underground 4 sheets and OOH at key rail stations.
